About Radio Control Zone Middelburg

It was a dream that was set into motion in the early months of 2008, to build a radio control racing facility that could cater for the Middelburg and Witbank area's need for speed! The initial stages of the development progressed slowly, but things started moving on and gained momentum fast.

The first off-road meeting was held in June 2008. From there, the pressure was on to complete the on-road side of the facility. The first on-road event was held in January 2009!

As a part of the facility, the club was established to accommodate the local regulars and generate funds to maintain the facility.

The club caters for scale 1/8 gas powered off-road vehicles on the off-road track. The classes raced are Monster trucks, Truggies and Buggies. These cars can reach speeds in excess of 80 km/h! The off-road races make for lots of action, thrills and spills. The track covers an area of about 47m x 50m and has a total track length of approximately 230m.

The on-road side caters for scale 1/10 electric and gas powered on-road vehicles ranging from stock to modified, even mini's! We also cater for large scale (1/7 and 1/8) gas powered on-road vehicles. The on-road side ensures racing enthusiasts get their need for speed satisfied and makes for fabulous competition! The track covers an area of about 30m x 50m and has various configuration possibilities, this track has a track length of up to 230m! With a straight section of about 25m. 6m at its widest and 3m on the narrow sections. With a 15m pit lane!

Race control is situated under the drivers' stand which is large enough to accommodate 15 drivers comfortably!

So come and join the fun! Come visit us and see the adrenalin flow!
